so I made a run for it

I know that Hurricane Wilma is now on the back pages of the news but the devastation in Palm Beach County and Broward is crazy. There is still, 6 days later very little power. The upside is that lines at gas stations are down to 1 hour ... so that is a plus.

I made a run for it and am up in NY. I just need to get some work done.

Everything east of I95 is completely without power. Yesterday when I left they finally got a light on one of the major intersections and there is still a 9PM-5AM curfew. FYI ... do not drive after sundown, it is just plain crazy. I tried it ...

I guess this is what Katrina felt like in New Orleans .... still without power and no one around the country has any idea. One with the news of the day.

wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllllllllllmmmmmmmmmmmmmaaa

Well that was alot more than expected.

I am up in Ft Pierce at a Quality Inn which is surely going to be the new headquarters of PCSecurityShield for a while. My apartment made out ok, but my complex is a mess. I was on the roof of my building last night and you can not see a light anywhere. It is crazy.

I am okay, family is cool but I am tired. Going back tonight and will update later.

Wilma

7.40PM and I have begun to hunker on down. Storm shutters are coming down, stuff off the patio ... what a pain in the a-s.

I am on the east coast of florida in Delray Beach. Basically, you see that lake in the middle/south florida ... just a little below that. FYI ... that is lake okechobee and it is the largest lake completely within the USA.

So that is it ... I will see about some pictures in the AM ... maybe a mid hurricane blog.

wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllllllllllllllma

9.10 this AM I called the office together and gave the hurricane speech, "hurricane coming .... take care of stuff early ... friday break down you pc and put in back room ... blah blah blah". This is the 4th time in the last 14 months we will break down the computer system and put it in the back room. First time took a day and a half, I am pretty sure this time will take about 20-25 minutes. You get good at doing this stuff.

I can't wait to get back to NYC ... at least I can fight back if I get mugged.

So I did my hurricane prep afterwork tonight. I am not sure what this says about me but I spent $50 on gas, $40 on gin and $18 on food (oatmeal, frosted flakes, peanut butter and bread and limes). I am ready to hunker down.

Blog on ... wish us luck.

CB Humor

A monkey is sitting in a tree, smoking a joint, when a lizard walks past. The lizard looks up and says to the monkey "Hey! what are you doing?" The monkey says "Smoking a joint, come up and join me, my cold-blooded friend."

So the lizard climbs up and sits next to the monkey and they have another joint. After a while the lizard says his mouth is 'dry,' and that he's going to get a drink from the river. At the riverbank, the lizard is so stoned that he leans too far over and falls in.

A Crocodile sees this and swims over to the stoned lizard, helping him to the side. He then asks the lizard, "What's the matter with you?!" The lizard explains to the crocodile that he was sitting in the tree, smoking a joint with his new monkey friend. He then explained how his mouth got dry, and that he was so wasted that, when he went to get a drink from the river, he fell in!

The inquisitive crocodile says he has to check this out. He walks into the jungle and finds the tree where the monkey is sitting, finishing a joint.

He looks up and says "Hey, MONKEY!"

The Monkey looks down and says "FUUUUUCK, DUDE....... how much water did you drink?"

ringtones

So I have always had a very basic ringtone on my cell phone, usually the one it came with as I don't really know how to change it. Well Greg and I are having a cocktail over at neighborhood sports bad the other afternoon and he was explaining hot the ringtone internet industry works. I was playing with my phone at the bar, decided to download a ringtone ($2.49) and scrolled through and got one.

I have to admit, this could conceivably be the single most annoying ringtone on the face of the earth.

Ozzy Osbournes Crazy Train ... scared the crap out of the cats when all of a sudden they hear "All aboard ... ha hahahahahaha ...."

Well worth the $2.49 ...

Jenn says it's about as obnoxious as the Hummer.

refreshed

I think I needed a little post Blogster time away from blogging ... but I feel refreshed. I just got my Herm Edwards NY Jets Game Day Hat (althought apparently I have a big head). Black ... it is cool looking.

So thats the deal.

I am feeling refreshed and have a lot of complaints, comments and thoughts coming but first, it is friday and about to Martini here in South Florida. I blog better with a slight hangover and a cup of coffee.

One comment ... NYC is again under a heightened level security. Are we at the point where we simply look around, say f--k you al qaida, and go on with our day? I think we are and I am glad. I am glad that we aren't freaking out anymore ... I am glad we are more inclined to say f--k you rather than I am not getting on that subway.

I am up in NYC in November and then permanently back in the area in January and I look forward to taking my turn at saying f--k you.

Another rambling blog ... but I feel better and I feel refreshed.
